Requirements, without guesswork.

Separate documented prerequisites from hardware reports and unknown minimums.

Runtime prerequisites in the documentation

Host platforms
Windows and Linux. The source build instructions target x86-64.
Graphics
A Vulkan 1.1 device with graphics and compute queues and swapchain presentation. A discrete GPU is preferred when choosing a device.
System libraries
The AnyPS5 implementations built for your target operating system, in the runtime's libs/ directory by default.
Application resources
A clean input ELF, its bundled modules, and separately supplied resources under the documented app0/ layout.
Intel hosts
The --to-intel option converts supported AMD-only instructions. It is not a guarantee that every instruction or title works.
System fonts
Titles calling system font sets need the documented files. Openly licensed Noto substitutes are supported when present.

Windows memory: commit matters

The usage document describes direct memory being committed in full when allocated. The system commit limit combines installed memory and page-file capacity, and must also cover other applications.

The documented per-title direct-memory upper allocation is 13,824 MiB. This is an allocation limit described by the runtime, not a universal minimum RAM specification. An allocation failure needs the requested size and the full Windows error to diagnose.

A reported configuration is not a benchmark suite

The upstream compatibility table reports Dreaming Sarah at 60 FPS on a GTX 1050 Ti with an i5-7500 at 3.4 GHz, and 36 FPS on Intel HD Graphics 620 with an i5-7200 at 2.5 GHz. These are upstream reports for one title, not measurements by this website or predictions for other games.

Building from source

The current build document lists Git, CMake 3.22.1 or newer, Ninja, and a C++20 toolchain. Initialize the repository's submodules before configuration.

Linux toolchain

GCC, G++, and binutils. SDL's X11 backend also needs X11 and Xext development headers; the document names libx11-dev and libxext-dev on Debian/Ubuntu.

Windows toolchain

The current instructions support a specific MinGW-w64 GCC 15.2.0 WinLibs build (x86_64-ucrt-posix-seh). Follow the exact release named upstream and add mingw64/bin to PATH.

Building the default target alone does not refresh all system libraries. The document requires a separate libs target. Its FFmpeg and certificate notes also matter on Windows. See the complete build instructions before compiling.
